Cheesy Funny stuff I Googled "I need a job" as well and landed right here, maybe a good place to be! I'm in the same boat as everyone else, over qualified and unemployed. I really liked the shirt and if I had $25 I would definately post my resume on my back lol! I have two degrees from a great university, one in social science and the other in Human Biology with a minor in Biochemistry. Don't be fooled, even with my education I have been struggling for a year to find a job. I believe my resume scares people, I've had a lot of time researching in medical and university labs, I've had the chance to work on the coolest things from immunology to neurology research. On top of that I've had several years of medical assisting experience, but I was never licensed for it, I was too busy finishing my requirements for medical school. Now I'm faced with a bad situation, I'm moving to Denver to be with my husband to be but I can't seem to find a job no matter how hard I try. I'm a really optomistic person but I'm getting pretty low, I don't want to go there and be a burden. Thats my story, I WANT IT TO CHANGE.

Here in Colorado the Medical field is booming. I think you might have good luck finding something here. I wish I were a Nurse or certified Tech in some thing.
Good Luck when you get to Denver.

I'm an IT professional, a victim of recession, I have broadband connection at my accomodation. I want to do some online job to utilize my time and talent and keep myself in rythm. The problem is there are so many websites offering some kind of form filling jobs after purchasing their packages

I also googled "I need a job"  Grin
My story is - been a housewife for several years. My husband is a general contractor and I do all his paperwork and take care of the kids.  Well, the past couple years have been extremely tough - 2007 income decreased about 25%, and 2008 about another 25% on top of that - no joke! We live just east of the Bay Area and things were going so well about 5 years ago that I would have said you were nuts if you'd have told me that in 2009 I would not be able to afford to fix my squeeky brakes, or that I would be applying for food stamps (can't collect unemployment when you are self employed)  Cry .. I have been looking for a job for literally years! Actually I took a break for almost a year in 2007 so I could  take a medical assisting course (thinking I would eventually land a better job if I did) - not knowing how hard it is to get a job as an MA if you have no experience and are not bilingual.  Anyways, I have been even more desperate to find a job in the past few months because we are trying to get a loan mod. and have been told it will most likely be a "no go" if we don't have any sort of steady income.
I have applied for well over 100 jobs, and have only had about 5 interviews. I never thought of myself as over qualified but maybe I am- I don't know. I had my own business for several years (insurance broker), maybe that's what puts people off. I am seriously thinking maybe I should start "dumbing down" and leaving all that out - just saying that I would like a job because my kids are in school all day. - Maybe they can sense my desperation! Huh
For a while I was sending my resume for everything that I could possibly qualify for on craigslist - OMG! - then the junk mail started rolling in. -- Just because I need a job I must also need- Vicodin, Viagra, or purchase info on how to make thousands working at home in just hours! -- Arggg!
So now I only respond to the ads that I am pretty sure are legit - absolutely NO gmail email addresses!
Anyways, I like your forum, thanks for allowing me to ramble , lol

Dumbing down a resume or having several versions is a necessary tactic. I wouldn't leave your insurance experience off though. Instead of owning the business list it as experience working in an insurance agency as a CSR.

I have heard the story from the Bay area first hand from several people. My next door neighbor has a son who, equipped with credentials in architecture, recently tagged along to your neck of the woods with his girl friend who did find a job there. In the last week or so he found a job stocking shelves at Wal-Mart and is quite literally thrilled about it.

CL is a great resource however as you have learned you must weed through the bs. I wouldn't respond to any ads using an email address that you care about.

Thanks for sharing your story.

So I signed up with this club http://bit.ly/5l2ROS about 2 weeks ago. It was FREE, and I totally thought it was a complete scam. Yet, I gave it a shot and tried to send out the link to people I know. Yesterday I got a $3000 check in the mail from this Club. Still skeptical, but I went to the bank rightaway and cashed it. Transection completed. Now I learn a new lesson that if something SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, it's probably TRUE

Looking for job. What kind of job you are looking for. I knew a good job site cloudjobs.net who provide good service fro the job seekers and job providers. They are specialized in matching the job seekers and job providers. They are created to help the employees and employers. I got a good job for my career with the help of them.

I didn't.  Actually, I was hovering over my dad's shoulder, and he typed in "I need a job," out of curiosity.

That site popped up...
