Have you ever thought about an online home based business? I was in a similar situation as you. Not quite the same but similar. I was jobless and needed some sort of income so I took to the internet, searching day in and day out until I came across a online business that seemed like it had a lot of potential. I did my research and the business had an A+ rating in the better bureau business....check it out if your interested..... http://www.dansrecommendation.com/compass   (click on opportunity once your inside)

Good luck!

I have been looking for a job for quite awhile i had temporary employment at a daycare but that went south. I can work during the school year as a crossing guard and earn a little money but the hours and pay suck. I go on careerbuilder a lot but have a hard time finding anything for what im qualified to do. (retail, childcare, and foodservice ie hospitals, cafeterias etc. ) i even got turned down to work in a school cafeteria. How can i navigate job websites better? How can i find jobs that i may actually be able to get?

Im gonna give you the same advice my ma gave me. if you want a job bug people. Not every single day but atleast a couple times a week. Tell them how eager you are to work for them and how much of a privelage itd be. Ive gotten many interviews that way. And even if you dont get the job you got your foot in the door.
